Dec 11, Hamburg, GER; Grand Elysee Hotel, Universumm Box Promotions, Arena Box Promotion / WBC, bdb The new Universum, Arena Box Promotion and WBC joined forces for an event with more quantity than quality. 10x3: Mourad, Aliev, 117,5, Fra TKO 6 (1.56) Davide Brito, 101,0, Ita/US Aliev retained the WBC Int'l title with a dominating performance against a competitive opponent in Brito. Aliev, a southpaw and much taller, worked behind the jab and followed up with his left. He won rounds but could never hurt his opponent. Brito had his moments but was outgunned. In the sixth Aliev got Brito to the ropes and opened up with a flurry that ended with a right hook. Brito finally fell and fell out of the ropes. He got himself up and looked alright but it was stopped. 10x2: Asley Gonzales, 52,0, Mex W10-U Mary Romero, 51,5, Spa Gonzales retained the WBC super fly title on scores of 97-93 twice and 98-92. It was scored 79-73 and 78-74 twice after eight and could well have ended 99-91 & 98-992 but the judges evened up the score a bit at the end. 10x3: Serkay Comert, 72,0, Ger W10-U Yassin Hermi, 72,0, Ita Comert won the vacant WBC Int'l title on scores 99-90 twice and 100-89. Hermi was floored in the sixth and was badly marked up at the end.. Both kept switching stance and Comert impressed with his hand speed and some of his movements but posed too much instead of working. 10x3: Bohdan Myronets, 100,7, Ukr/Lat W10-S Jose Larduet, 121,8, Cub/Ger Myronets won the vacant WBC Francophone title on a split but well deserved decision. It was scored 96-94 and 97-93 while the third judge who may have had too much of the Hamburg nightlife scored it 97-93 Larduet. Myronets boxed on the move and did it well while Larduet, too heavy, tried to pin his opponent down and had his moments in rounds four, five and six but faded a bit. Larduet's face was swollen, and he kept complaining to the referee about his opponent's head -. Universum co-boss Ahmet Oener didn't look happy at the end - this was one of the new Universum's major investments going down the tube. One defeat doesn't end a career but the way Larduet allowed this fight to slip away can. 10x3. Ermal Hadribeaj, 69,9, Alb/US W10-M Eddy Colmenates, 69,9, Ven Hadribeaj , a southpaw, retained the WBC Int'l Silver title on scores of 97-93 twice and 95-95 after a messy fight with no highlights. It looked in fact that Hadribeaj was tired and he could well have had a point deducted for all his holding but he did score with effective punches in between. 10x2, atomw: Eneidy Rodriguez Olmos, Mex W10-U Sana Hazuki, Jap Olmos retained the WBC Atomweight title on scores 97-93, 96-94 and 97-92. 8x3: Henry Grün, 66,5, Ger TKO 4 (not out) Johnny Sanchez, 66,6, Ven Sanchez retired with an arm or shoulder injury - he did alright for as long as it lasted. 10x3: Benjamin Gavazi, 79,2, Ger TKO 10 (1.41) Branimir Malenica, 79,2, Ger Gavazi won the WBC Int'l Silver title in a minor upset as he was too slick and quick for the heavy handed but slow Malenica, who kept walking into one counter after another. He looked a spent force in the later rounds but kept trying. In the tenth Gavazi opened up and Malenica was rescued by the referee still fighting back but on unsteady legs. 8x3: Billy Dib,61,0, Aus W8--U Attila Kayabasi, 62,0, Ger Dib returned after winning a battle with cancer and retired afterwards. He won on scores of 80-72 on all cards but was unable to finish his opponent.. His story is touching but the fight was not. 6x3: Shokhjakhon Abdullaev, 87,8, Uzb W6-U Dzemal Bosnjak, 88,5, B-H 60-53x3. Bosnjak was down in the fist but showed toughness and Abdullaev had to work hard for his win. 4x3: Radoslav Rosenov, 61,8, Bul W4-U Eber Tobar, 62,5, Col Pro debut for former (?) IBA pro and olympic boxing star Rosenov and he looked good. Tobar was decked in the second and lost every round.
