EURO NEWSBy Per-Ake Persson German Eduard Gutknecht (27-3-1) continues his comeback July 11 in Bestensee with an eight rounder against Slavisa Simeuonovic (17-11) . Gutknecht is now promoted by Wiking Boxtem headed by Winfried Spiering. Wiking is where former IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester got his start.
Gutknecht began his procareer with Spotlight Boxing and was then signed to Sauerland Event but left after a disapppointing draw against Pablo Sosa.
On the undercard Swedish heavyweight Adrian Granat (6-0) returns after hand surgery and take on Milos Doveden (2-16). Granat is currently sparring with WBA ruler Ruslan Chagaev in Hamburg. Adrian is not a southpaw like Chagaev´s opponent Francesco Pianeta but is about as tall as Pianeta and is therefor useful.

Danish supermiddle Rudy Markussen (38-3) have according to Ekstrabladet talked himself into a payday of all in all one million Danish kronas (about 150 000 USD) for a tuneup in September and then the showdown against Patrick Nielsen (26-1) in December. However, again according to Ekstrabladet while Sauerland Promotion have a contract with Nielsen a deal for a fight against Markussen is not done and manager Simon Lundt Hansen says he wants his fighter to get twice the amount that Markussen is getting and that means two million Danish kronas or around 300 000 USD - and that is pretty big money for a fight that is big in Denmark only.
Markussen, now 38, was in his prime known for his fearsome punching power but for also for his tendency to fade when the going got tough. He´s been inactive since December of 2012.
