EURO NEWSBy Per-Ake Persson Belgian / Armenian featherweight Alex Miskirtchian (25-3-1) is sidelined with a handinjury and he is unable to fight July 24 in Madrid for the vacant EBU title against Rudy Encarnacion (34-23-4). However, to save the show the EBU have allowed a substitute in Sofiane Takoucht (29-3-1).
It may be destiny playing a part in this because Encarnacion vs Takoucht were all set in April to fight for the then vacant EU title July 10. As it was Takoucht was forced out due to a license problem. Encarnacion was then elevated to mandatory status for the EBU crown along with Miskirtchian.
Encarnacion vs Takoucht is promoted by Maravilla Box. The title was left vacant by Josh Warrington.
