European super middleweight championship: Mohoumadi and Brischetto talk!

PBE Press release

Milan, November 3, 2015 – Next Saturday, European super middleweight champion Hadillah Mohoumadi (France, 19 wins – 14 inside the distance – 3 losses and 1 draw) will defend against Giuseppe Brischetto (13-3) at Principe theater in Milan (Italy).  Mohoumadi is a former French champion and is coming from the biggest win of his career as he stopped in eight rounds  Mariano Hilario in Spain last May for the vacant EBU crown. Mohoumadi signed with Milan-based company Opi 2000 led by Salvatore Cherchi and is training at Opi Gym in downtown Milan with famed trainer Franco Cherchi, who was European flyweight champion in 1985.

Why did Mohoumadi decide to continue his career in a different country? That’s what he says: “I want to become a world champion and Opi 2000 has a reputation for getting world title fights to his boxers.  I’m 35 years old and I want to reach my goal fast. I will defend my Euro crown against Giuseppe Brischetto and anybody else, but my dream is to make it big. When I get the world belt, I want to make real money. I have a job in an elementary school in France, I supervise the entertainment area. This job allows me to get a break when I need to train for a major fight. I knew Franco Cherchi before coming to Italy. He came to France many times, he speaks my language and working with him is positive for me. My previous trainer was Antoine Farrugia, who was very famous in France, but he died last year. Among the fighters I met at Opi Gym, the one who impressed me the most is former European super lightweight champion Michele Di Rocco: he is formidable!”

Giuseppe Brischetto is not coming to Milan to be a stepping stone for Mohoumadi: “The European title is the most important after the world title and I want to win it. The fact that I accepted this opportunity on a short notice, says how badly I want to become European champion. I know that Mohoumadi is a tough opponent, but I will give him a battle!”

The undercard at Principe theater will offer 5 fights on the 6 rounds distance:

Welterweigths: Antonio Moscatiello (Italy, 19-2-1) vs Sasa Janjic (Serbia, 5-8)
Middleweights:  Catalin Paraschiveanu (Romania, 9-0) vs Aleksandar Cigaranovic (Serbia, 3-2-2)
Light heavyweights: Luca Podda (Italy, 6-0) vs Mile Nikolic (Serbia, 16-27-1-1 no-contest)
Super welterweights: Diego Di Luisa (Italy, 3-0) vs Bojan Radovic (Serbia, 3-6)
Super welterweights: Maxim Prodan (Ukraine, 4-0) vs Stanisalv Sakic (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 3-17-1)

The event will be broadcast by Deejay Tv in Italy, FightKlub in Poland and L’Equipe Tv in France.
