EURO NEWSBy Per-Ake Persson Undefeated supermiddle Tyron Zeuge (17-0) is now trained by current WBA lightheavy champ Juergen Braehmer. It was previously announced that Zeuge would switch trainers from Karsen Rover to Ulli Wegner but apparently that didn´t last long and now Braehmer is his new coach and the two are working out in Schwerin.
Zeuge was injured before taking on Eduard Gutknecht in September and fell ill when the fight was reschuled in December so he´s been out of the ring since April of last year.
Braehmer (47-2) defended the regular version of the WBA title in September and was set to fight Thomas Oosthuizen early November but got injured in training and was forced to pull out but he´s expected to be back late March. ******************** Former IBF cruiser champ Arthur Williams could be on his way to Copenhagen, Denmark, to train heavyweight Pierre Madsen (1-0) and cruiser Tobias Soerig (1-0). The two Danes will next fight sometime in February and are promoted by Mogens Palle / Super Brian Promotion.
The team will stage six shows billed as Danish Fight Night during 2016 and have also signed up lightweight Osama Hadifi (11-0, 11).
Also in Copenhagen since a few years is another American former World champ in Joey Gamache who trains some of the Nordic Fight Night fighters for Sauerland Promotion. ******************** EBU lightheavy champ Igor Michalkin (17-1) defends the title March 12 in Paris and the opponent is Medhi Amar (reigning EU ruler and 34-4-2). This is Michalkin´s third straight fight in France and this far he is 2-0.
With Michalkin on the trip is his Swedish stablemate Adrian Granat, a heavyweight and 10-0.
The show in Paris is promoted by MK Event headed by Malamine Kone.
******************** The Kraft Brothers, Toni and James, headline LMS Promotion at the Bavaria Filmstudios in Munich January 16. Toni, a 6-0 lightheavy, take on Hungarian Ferenc Albert (21-8) for the vacant WBC Youth title. Younger brother James, 7-0 and a middleweight, fights Peter Orlik (16-13-1) also for the vacant WBC Youth title.
Also on the bill is supermiddleweight Vartan Avetysan (6-0-1) who is in against an opponent to be announced also with a WBC subtitle at stake and finally superlightweight Howik Bebraham (1-0) square off against Ahmet Cicik (6-2) for the vacant German – BDB version – title.
Managing the local fighters and co-promoting the show is Alexander Petkovic, who is 50-4-4 as a lightheavy, cruiserweight and heavyweight and might still have a fight or two left in him.
