Italian lightheavies Mirco Ricci (17-2) and Serhyi Demchenko (15-9-

1) clash for the vacant EU lightheavy title March 12 in Rome on a show staged by Buccioni Boxing Team.

Demchenko's record over the last few years is not too impressive but he steps in for Bob Ajisafe, who opted not to take the fight against Ricci.

BBT won purse bids for Ricci vs Ajisafe and set the fight for March 12 in Rome but the British team behind Ajisafe pulled him out and in came Demchenko, who hails from Ukraine but have been fighting out of Italy for a long time now. This is however his first fight in his new homecountry since 2009.
