Briedis against Huck - Foto: Konstantinos Sarigiannidis
April 1, Dortmund, GER, Westfalenhalle, Huck Box Promotion, bdb
Mairis Briedis, 90,5 Lat W12-U Marco Huck, 90,5, Ger
Briedis won the vacant WBC title on scores of 116-111, 117-110 and 118-109. Huck was pretty much outboxed most of the way and could never get untracked in his wild and ruthless style. The constant change of trainers may have played a part in this (for this fight Oktay Urkal was head coach) but also the wear and tear after many tough fights.
Christina Hammer, 72,0, Ger W10-U Maria Lindberg, Swe/bdb license
Hammer retained the WBC title on scores of 100-90 on all cards. Lindberg kept coming but was slow and onepaced while Hammer moved well and kept outboxing her opponent.
