April 21, Sundsvall, SWE; Gärdehov, Team Sauerland & EC Boxing
12x3: Otto Wallin, 104,5, Swe W12-U Adrian Granat, 106,3, Swe
Wallin won the vacant EU title - and the Swedish title as well - as he outboxed Granat for a win on scores of 117-111, 117-112 and 118-110. Wallin used his slick southpaw style, speed and smartness to do a number on Granat, who looked hurt in the eighth. Wallin moved in to finish it but Granat fought back and from now on Wallin didn´t want to risk anything. In the eleventh Granat scored with a left and Wallin was then pushed down and it was correctly not ruled as a knockdown - but Otto was stunned but got out of trouble with his movement and Granat´s only moment in the fight was gone.
10x2: Mikaela Lauren, 68,9, Swe W10-M Verena Kaiser, 66,7, Ger
Lauren won the vacant IBO title on scores of 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95. Kaiser looked like a novice but was willing and had a dangerous right. Lauren, 42, had problems with her timing but showed was will power can do and won a close call in what have been her last fight.
10x3: Sven Fornling, 79,0, Swe W10-U Karel Horejsek, 79,3, Cze
Fornling retained the IBF Baltic title on scores of 99-91 and 97-93 twice. Fornling grabbed an early lead but was hurt by Horejsek´s big right hook in the sixth and walked to the wrong corner at the end of the round. Horejsek was dangerous throughout but Fornling´s better boxing saved it for him. I had it 96-94 Fornling.
6x3: Mikkel Nielsen, 69,7, Den TKO 6 (not out) Simon Henriksson, 69,7, Swe
Henriksson fought as if his head was elsewhere and Nielsen took over scoring with heavy hooks. He broke through in the fourth and Henriksson got a S8C. In the fifth Simon was floored and he retired himself and blamed it on being hit in the back of the head. -I got a long career ahead and didn´t want to risk anything, said Henriksson. Well, safety first is of course to be recommended but there must be some fighting spirit as well.
4x3: Rocco Wadell, 76,3, Swe W4-U Mark Krammerstedter, 75,1, Hun
40-36 on all cards. Krammerstodter, a short, stocky guy, gave Wadell all he could handle. Glenn is easy to hit and often lacks timing in his punches.
6x3: Robin Safar, 82,9, Swe W6-U Josip Perkovic, 84,1, Cr
Perkovic replaced Przemyslav Gorgon (with permission from MAD). Safar won on scores of 60-53 on all cards ut posed too much. Perkovic took a count in the fifth.
6x3: Oliver Flodin, 73,4, Swe W4-U Aliaksandr Dzemka, 73,5, Blr
Dzemska looked tough and he was. Flodin worked him over a bit in the first but had to take some good counters. Dzemka, a late sub for Daniel Pilc,, tired a bit but Flodin could never hurt him. The late change led to that the permission from MAD to do it for 6x3 was gone and it was reduced to a four rounder.
4x3: Albon Pervizaj, 104,5, Ger TKO 2 (1.23) Irakli Gvenetadze, 108,0, Blr
Gvenetadze was down, got up but the cornerman waved with the towel and mr G was retired with a small cut on his nose.
4x3: Agron Skamici, 109,0, Ger KO 1 (1.05) Giorgi Tamazashvili, 102,6, Geo
Skamici took out his opponent with a bodyshot - or Tamazashvili dove to the canvas after a touch to the body.
