Dec 1, Skövde, SWE, Valhall, Rising Stars VII (Jan Eliasson / Stefan Fernström)
6x3: Ahmed Rossi, 69,4, Swe W6-M Simon Henriksson, 69,8, Swe
Rossi won the vacant Swedish 154 lb title with a hardfought more wrestling than boxing fight against Henriksson, who had to
hold on and as referee Ake Johansson alllowed him to do so the fight degenerated into a wrestling brawl. Rossi was the stronger man and
sealed the win with a good first round and a strong finish. It was scored 58-56, 59-56 and 57-57.
6x2: Daniel Gustavsson, 58,8, Swe W6-U Ilia Beruashvili, 56,6, Geo
60-54 on all cards. Gustavsson fights a bit like Prince Naseem while Beruashvili, a southpaw, proved to be tougher than his
frail looks. Both bled from the nose at the end.
6x2: Joanna Ekedahl, 62,0, Swe W6-U Nina Pavlovic, 59,9, Ser
59-55 twice and 60-54. Ekedahl hurt her hand in the second but was much bigger than her opponent, who was good but probably
only a featherweight in real life.
4x3: Robin Safar, 89,2, Swe TKO 4 (2.25) Gennadi Stserbin, 91,3, Est
Stserbin came in two days before fight date for Madars Trivols while Safar came to Skovde when his Las Vegas debut got cancelled
days before. Stserbin had a good third round but Safar hurt him in the last and then the referee made an ill-timed stoppage
just when it seemed as if the Estonian was out of trouble.
4x3; Sami Jangirov, 89,3, Swe D4-U Kostia Dovbyshchenko, 91,0, Ukr
38-38 on all cards. Very tough brawl with Jangirov hurt in the last and Dovbyshchenko was a winner on my card by 39-37.
