Nov 9, Vejle, DEN, Vindinghallen, Kobra Promotions (Dalibor Ban)
Low budget, off TV, promoter Ban was in Germany leaving most of the work to Haris Dzindo. During the days leading up to the show there were some late changes but it was never annnounced that Mikheil Khutsishvili, 83,4 kg, would be in the main event replacing David Makaradze who had stepped in for Bosko Misic Nov 6.
8x3: Haris Dzindo, 76,7, Den TKO 4 (not out) Mikheil Khutsishvili, 83,4, Geo
Dzindo worked well behind the jab using his reach and looked good while Khutsishvili, much too heavy, was breathing heavily in the third and retired between rounds. Dzindo won the vacant GBU Continental and UBF Euro titles.
4x3: Michael Nielsen, 55,9, Den TKO 2 Laszlo Orsos, 55,2, Hun
Orsos, a very late sub making his prodebut, battled it out with Nielsen in a fight between two novice fighters. In the second Nielsen strayed low and Orsos bent over in pain, overplaying it a bit it seemed, and was counted out ... with the official ruling a tko. More correct would have been a time-out and then a point deduction either for Nielsen for the illegal blow or for Orsos for faking injury. Orsos subbed for Stefan Nicolae, who subbed
for Adnan Kuduzovic.
8x3: Almir Skrijelj, 71,9, Mne/Ger TKO 4 (2.27) Matti Schaffran, 71,4, Ger
Skrielj from nearby Flensburg wore down Schraffran and by the fourth the German was taking a beating and was tiring badly. Skrijelj looked decent but a bit slow and one-paced. This was for the vacant UBF European 154 lb title but no need for anyone in the top 30 in Europe to lose any sleep
8x3; Freddy Kiwitt, 66,7, Flensburg, Ger TKO 7 (not out) Nika Nakashidze, 67,4, Geo
Kiwitt boxed well and outboxed his opponent, a very late sub (for Andreas Maier), but couldn´t hurt him - or wouldn´t. Nakashidze retired after the sixth. It was scored 60-54 twice and 59-55 after six.
Puriya Haidari, 66,0, Den W6-U Mirko Jovic, ?, B & H
58-55 twice and 57-56. Haidari was down from a right in the fourth and was hurt for real but made it through the round. Jovic plugged away while Haidari, slow and ponderous, scored with some heavy bodyshots and it became a close fight. I had Jovic up at 57-56 but it could have gone either way.
Nov 9, Hamburg, GER, Universum Box Promotion (Islam Özen)
tough start for the all new Universum with only one win in the four main fights - but maybe good for boxing as a whole?
sl: Artem Harutyunyan, Ger W10-M Islam Dumanov, Rus
97-93, 98-92 and 95-95. IBO Intercontinental title
sm: Leon Bauer, Ger W8-U Toni Kraft, Ger
Good fight where Bauer took it to Kraft showing the will to win and more power, strength and conditioning. Kraft had his moments but overall Bauer was the better man. 78-74, 77-75 and 77-76. Kraft had ex champ Artur Grigorian in his corner and he told his fighter that it is not enough to look like a champ in training, you must show it in a real fight as well. Smart guy.
m: Patrick Wojcicki, Ger TKO 4 Robert Swierzbinski, Pol
Swierzbinski was on the floor in the second, third and fourth and then the Polish corner retired their man.
h: Zhan Kossobutskiy, Kaz TKO 1 (2.40) Agron Smakici, Ger
Smakici was down twice in this all southpaw fight for the vacant IBO I/C title. He was hurt by a left and floored later and never recovered and he didn´t know how to survive. A single left ended matters and it was stopped without a count with Smakici badly stunned.. Why they threw away the untested Smakici is a good question.
sw: Nick Klappert, Ger W10-M Antonio Hoffmann, Ger
97-93, 96-94 and 95-95. IBO Continental title.
8x3, sm: Osleys Iglesias, Cuba/Ger KO 2 Rafael Bejaran, Ger
Another bad ko and Bejaran was taken to hospital afterwards.
