Nov 16, Halle an der Saale, GER, Messe, SES, bdb
Dominic Bösel, 79,2, Ger TKO 11 (1.12) Sven Fornling, 79,0, Swe
Bösel won the IBO and WBA interim titles by stopping Fornling 1.12 inton the eleventh round. Fornling was hurt by a right in the tenth - a punch that he walked into and never recovered from. Early in the eleventh a barrage of punches - and maybe a clash of heads - hurt the Swede for real but he held on and was pushed away by the challenger and fell. The referee talked to Bösel about not pushing and Fornling got to his feet but was out of it. Boesel saw this and opened up and Fornling was gone and went down in his own corner and it was stopped. After ten Bösel was ahead by 97-92 twice and 96-93. Fornling was down late in the second as well but it was more of a push than anything else. The Swede worked hard very hard and won some rounds on workrate alone but could never really get to the German, who protected himself well and kept landing with a straight left and right-left combinations. Fornling took a beating and was cut by the left eye and on the bridge of the nose and badly swollen on the right cheek. He left the ring on his own but was unsteady and was taken to a hospital for a checkup and there appears to have been a minor bleeding - there are conflicting reports.
12x3: Stefan Härtel, 75,9, Ger TKO 6 (not out) David Zegarra, ?, Peru
Härtel won the vacant WBO I/C title as Zegarra retired and didn´t come out for the sixth. He had lost all rounds and Härtel showed good timing and good skills.
8x3: Mohammed Rabii, 70,5, Mor W8-U Jesus Gurrola, 70,6, Mex
Gurrola showed a dangerous heavy left hook and connected in the second but in the third the ref had to tell both men to pick it up. Rabii did but was very careful not to get caught again while Gurrola kept moving along the ropes waiting for a moment that never came. It was scored 79-73, 79-74 and 78-74.
6x3: Peter Kadiru, 107,4, Ger TKO 5 (0.03) Pedro Martinez, 102,4, Ven
Martinez, tired and worn out, retired and didn´t come out for the fifth (but his cornermen didn´t tell the referee until the bell rang and the clock started ticking). Kadiru took some time to warm up but once he got going Martinez was outclassed.
6x3: Roman Fress, 90,6, Ger TKO 1 (1.27) David Vicena, 91,0, Cze
Vicena looked out of shape and Fress looked sharp and didn´t miss with a punch. Vicena was down twice and appeared to be blocking punches with his head just to get out of there.
6x3: Tom Dzemski, 78,6, Ger TKO 4 (0.07) Zoltan Sera, ?, Hun
Sera walked out for the fourth and then the towel came in. Sera was losing the fight but was never hurt so he should have battled it out.
10x3: Erik Pfeifer, 111,0, Ger TKO 6 (not out) Adnan Redzovic, 108,9, B & H
Pfeifer won the WBO European title as Redzovic retired with a claimed hand injury but the 42-year old Bosnian was a spent force by then. Pfeifer was however floored in the third and hurt for real but Redzovic couldn´t finish him off. Pfeifer then upped the pace and wore down his opponent but at 32 and with a fragile chin it will be tough to make it to the top.
Nov 16, Oslo, NOR, Eriksdalhallen, Team Sauerland & Norway Box Team
10x2: Katharina Thanderz, 58,6, Nor/Spa W10-S Danila Ramos, 58,1, Arg
Thanderz won the vacant WBC interim title with a questionable decision over Ramos, who looked a clear winner despite a point deduction in the 10th after a clash of heads left Thanderz cut on the scalp. It was scored 96-93 and 97-93 for Thanderz and 95-94 Ramos. Add to that that we have an interim title with the real champion active and ready. Is it WBCorruption or Council?
10x3: Kai Robin Havnaa, 90,5, Nor W10-S Mariano Angel Gudino, 90,7, Arg
Gudino, a late sub for Al Sands, gave Havnaa all he could handle. It was scored 96-94 and 97-94 for Havnaa and 96-95 for Gudino.
