Carmona outboxed Cordova early but got caught late in the 8th and was hurt. Cordova came out smokin' in the night but suffered a flash knockdown early in the round.. Cordova came on strong though and Carmona was in trouble in the tenth, showed his lack of experience, was cut, held on to the point where he should have had a point deducted but survived. Carmona won on scores of 97-93, 96-93 and 96-94.
