EURO RESULTS
By Per-Ake Persson
April 9. Holstebro, DEN, Gråkjaer Arena, TK Promotion with some help from Probellum (Thorslund, Dimalghani and Essonga)
10x2: Dina Thorslund, 53,4, Den W10-U Niorkis Carreno, 53,0, Ven
Thorslund retained the WBO female bantamweight title on scores of 100-90 and 99-91 twice. Thorslund's style of one punch at the time didn't work out too good against the inept but brave Carreno. It was one way traffic but Carreno only looked hurt in the 8th.
8x3: Jacob Bank, 73,1, Den W8-U Christian Mazzon, 73,5, Ita
80-71 twice and 80-72. Bank showed the moves and posed a lot but when he tried to get serious he looked rather clumsy. But he is fast and has decent power and Mazzon did well to last the distance. It was scored 80-71 twice and 80-72 in this no knockdown affair.
8x3: Luis MIllan, 60,2, Ven W8-U Payman Akbari, 59,0, Den
Millan came out agressively in the first two but when the third round started he looked like he was ready to go. Akbari jumped on him and Millan was stunned but then the Dane was cut and Millan came back and from now on he imposed his will on Akbari, who faded and showed a lack of fighting spirit while troubled with cuts around the left eye. He tried to box his way out of troubles but was repeatedly cornered and was a clear loser at the end. 78-74 twice and 77-75.
8x3: Thomas Essomba, 54,7, Uk W8-U Michael Nielsen 54,8, Den
80-72 on all cards and there was a wide gap in class. Nielsen tried in the early rounds but was content to survive later on. Essomba, a southpaw, could have ended this workout whenever he wanted but choose (?) to go for the points win.
6x3: Irakli Alanidze, 90,8, Geo W6-U Jeppe Möller Christensen, 90,0, Den
57-56 twice and 59-54 for Alanidze, who had a point deducted in the fourth for holding. It was bombs away and wild slugging in this fight and "Pain Train" Christensen took a bad beating, kept coming and just stood there, right in front of his opponent and tried to punch while getting caught himself.
8x3: Alex Dilmaghani, 59,5, Uk W8-U Victor Julio, 59,0, Col
Dilmaghani won fair enough on scores of 77-75 twice and 78-74 in this all southpaw clash. Julio looked pretty good but allowed himself to be outworked in what looked like a sparring session.
