Davis handed out a one-sided beating against Yigit, who kept asking for more and more but soaked up a lot of hard punches. Late in the 8th he finally went down after a right hand to the body. He was saved by the bell but early in the ninth referee Benjy Esteves had seen enough and stopped it. It was scored 80-71 Davis on all cards after eight. The WBC US and WBO I-C titles were at stake (both vacant). Davis is a world class fighter. Yigit got a 30-day suspension (as did Davis) from the NJ commission.
