Hermans won the vacant IBO title by stopping Lindberg, who was retired by her corner. Hermans started the fight well outjabbing her opponent switching back and from orthodox to southpaw. Hermans landed a good southpaw left and then in the final seconds of the round scored with a right on the ear /back of the head on Lindberg who collapsed on the canvas. It should have been stopped but referee Jean Pierre Van Imsccoot waved the fight on as the bell rang, and Lindberg, badly out of it, staggered back to her corner where she stood up during the interval while her cornermen discussed her future. When the bell rang Lindberg, still unsteady, tried to pretend she was okay but chief corrnermen Khoren Gevor and Pavel Melkonian waved it over with Lindberg protesting.
