EURO RESULTS

By Per-Ake Persson

March 1, Vejen, DEN, Idrætscenter, Primetime Boxing (Kasper Holgersen)
10x3: Jacob Bank, 76,1, Den  W10-U Damian Biacho, 76,1, Spa
Bank retained the WBO Global title on scores of 100-90 twice and 98-92 - and the win was fair enough in a no knockdown fast paced fight. Bank showed impressive skills and hand speed but he could never really get to his well schooled opponent and halfway through the fight he began to tire and became frustrated. Bank moved so fast and punched so little that it resembled a dance competition. Biacho plugged away and won rounds on sheer workrate. In the final round the two finally exchanged punches - with the Spaniard getting the better of it. Bank had Joey Gamache in his corner and he has his work cut out. Bank have talent but if he can put it all together remains to be seen.
6x3: Ahmad El Ahmad, (59,0, Den  W6-U. Hector Brea, 61,5, Spa
60-54 on all cards and it was another fast paced fight with a lot of nice moves but not much of effective punching. Brea was second best throughout and didn't seem to mind. El Ahmad looks good - but with no punch.
6x3: Gustav Thorsen, 110,0, Den  TKO 2  (2.31) . Mourad Omar, 110,5, Egy
Thorsen looked to be struggling but landed a right and Omar´s legs left him. The Dane followed up and it was stopped with the Egyptian very unsteady.
6x2: Melissa Mortensen, (56,7, Den W6-U Alba Sanchez, 57,4, Spa
Mortensen floored Sanchez in the second and won clearly on scores of 60-53x3. Sanchez tried all the way but Mortensen punched too hard and was too strong for her.
6x3: Victor Hoveling, 71,1, Den. TKO 2 (2.38) Liridon Alan Ozog, 69,9, Ger
Ozog was punched, pushed and shoved to the canvas once in the first and twice in the second. Hoveling got the job done but it wasn't pretty.
6x3: Elias Idrissi, 61,0, Den W6-U Jampier Oses, 61,3, Ven
60-54 twice and 59-55. Idrissi showed a lot of slick moves but at times it was like shadowboxing. Oses threw a punch every now and then but was too slow and seemed content with going the distance.
4x3: Elias Faour, 59,2, Spa  W4-U. Ruben Garcia, 59,2, Spa
40-36 twice and 39-37. Garcia tried hard but was cut around the left eye in the second and was hurt by a southpaw left in the final seconds of the final round.
6x3: Mohammed Al Maliki, 66,5, Swe W6-U Rafael Hernandez, 65,4, Ven/Spa
Hernandez made a good start but his age and the wear and tear of many tough fights began to tell and El Maliki dominated the fight past the first round. It was scored 60-54 twice and 60-53.
