May 11, Göppingen. GER, EWS Arena, EC / Universum
Alexander Alekseev, 90,0, Hamburg  D12-M  Firat Arslan, 90,2, Stuttgart
Alekseev retained the EBU cruiser title on majority decision draw in an exellent fight where Alekseev won the early rounds with his better boxing while Arslan got stronger as the fight progressed. In the Arslan last was on top with Alekseev, again with Fritz Sdunek, about to collapse but he still managed to hurt Arslan, also exhausted, with a left in this all southpaw clash. Arslan is probably not what he was and Alekseev, well, sad to say it but he looks like a case of an outstanding amateur who is not strong enough for top level in the pros. It was scored 115-113 for Alekseev and 114-114 twice.
Gökalp Özekler, 72,0, Hamburg  W12-S  Mouz Fhima, 71,7, Louvroil, Fra
WBC Med 160 lb title, scored - I turned on the TV and heard the Swedish EuroSport commentator shout "Fuck ..." over the decision - in a more diplomatich version let´s say it was close and controversial.
Rahkim Chakhkiev, 90,7, Hamburg  TKO 6 Zack Page, 90.0, Warren, OH
Page down in rounds one, five and six - and he is a very crafty journeyman and not an easy man to stop.
