When [Kevin Mitchell] withdrew as challenger for the EBU lightweight title held by [Gavin Rees] to challenge for the WBO crown it began a change of happenings in the EBU and EU titles.

Italian [Luca Giacon] was named official challenger for Rees and as he also holds the EU title he was stripped of that belt where [Edis Tatli] from Finland is mandatory challenger.

This paved the way for another Italian, [Pasquale Di Silvio], and the EBU have set July 31 as deadline for purse bids or agreements for the Tatli vs Di Silvio showdown for the vacant EU crown.

As for Rees he still to make a voluntary defence against [Derry Mathews] July 7 in Sheffield.
