WBC champion Yota Sato retained his title in JapanJapanese WBC superflyweight champion Yota Sato retained his title by UD over mandatory challenger, Philippine Sylvester Lopez in Yokohama, Japan.
There were no knockdowns, but Yota Sato dominated the fight since the beginning with his great handling of jab combined with uppers and right blows. The judges’ cards were: Louis Moret from US, 119-109, Chan Soo Kim from Korea, 116-113 and David Bilocerkowec from Canada 118-110. With this victory Yota Sato (20-3-1, 15 KO’s) successfully defended his WBC superflyweight title that conquered last March by UD over former champion Suriyan Sor Rungvisai in Tokyo.
