euro newsBy Per-Ake Persson EBU welter champ [Leonard Bundu] will make a voluntary defence against an opponent to be announced November 24. Bundu’s mandatory challenger is Pole [Rafal Jackiewicz], who with this appointment was stripped of the EU title.
Former WBC jr light champ [Vitali Tajbert] has been appointed mandatory challenger for EBU 130 lb ruler [Devis Boschiero]. Boschiero will make a voluntary defence of the title October 20 or 27 against an opponent to be announced.
Former IBF welter king [Jan Zaveck] underwent surgery on his injured elbow two weeks ago and expects to be back in December. Zaveck was all set to defend the WBO I/C title August 25 in Berlin when he suffered the injury that also meant he had to relinquish his position as mandatory challenger for the EBU title so it was a costly injury.
German heavy [Konstantin Airich] is off the fight against [Erkan Teper] September 14 in Halle / Saale after testing positive for a forbidden substance in his fight against [Odlanier Solis] May 19 in Pharr, Texas. euro resultsSep 1, Ystad, SWE, Surbrunnsparken, est 600, Armand Boxing Promotion (Armand Krajnc)
6x3: Patrick "Red Alert" Bogere, 68,3, Swe TKO 3 (1.29) Csaba Torma, 66,1, Hun
Torma, well out of his league, was floored in the first and twice more in the third before it was stopped. Bogere looked sharp though and is putting it together and shows good handspeed and power.
6x2: Anna Donatella Hultin, 60,8, Swe W6-U Anna Sikora, 58,8, Pol
59-56, 59-57 and 58-57 for Hultin, who looked surprised at getting the decision and one couldn´t blame her - some ringsiders had her losing every round. Hultin was outboxed in the first three and made it closer in the last three but to me she lost by 59-55 winning only the fourth on my card.
Redouane Kaya, 63,3, Swe W4-U Sergejs Volosins, 60,6, Lat
Prodebut for Kaya who won on scores of 40-36 on all cards. Volosins was much smaller. came to survive and did just that.
Suro Ismailov, 66,6, Swe W4-U Sergejs Kirillovs, 63,9, Lat
40-37 twice and 40-36. Kirillovs protected himself well and Ismailov couldn´t open him up.
Naim Terbunja, 76,1, Swe W4-U Kirill Psonko, 74,2, Lat
Terbunja was hot but a little too eager and Psonko survived and even came on a little in the final two. 40-36 twice and 40-37.
4x3: Oscar Ahlin, 78,5, Swe KO 4 (1.13) Bartolomej Grafka, 79,8, Pol
Grafka was floored in the first and second and again in the fourth after some sharp left hooks to the body. Ahlin is flashy and again impressed with his speed and punch.
Rastgar Ismaeeli, 81,0, Swe W4-U Egidijus Kakstys, 77,0, Lit
40-36, 40-37 and 39-37. Ismaeeli was cautious and then seemed to tire and it was very close even though it is not reflected in the scoring. Rastgard, from Iraq but a longtime Swedish resident entered the ring in a viking outfit and had a bunch of other "vikings" escorting him to the ring.
