EBU lightheavy champ [Eduard Gutknecht] will defend the title against mandatory challenger [Juergen Braehmer] December 15 in Nuremberg. Both are promoted by Sauerland, who also promotes the event.

 

 

Gutknecht, 24-1, looked lucky to get a split nod over [Tony Averlant] last time out but is capable boxer and probably a bit fresher than former WBO king Braehmer, 38-2, who have pulled out of more fights than he have participated in in the last few years. Early in 2012 he returned to fight for Universum but became a free agent this summer and then signed with Sauerland.

 

Gutknecht vs Braehmer is an exellent matchup and the winner is likely to challenge for a world title in 2013.
