Caramelito Promotions in Vasa, Finland, begin the new year with a show in Hamina February 16. Headlining is cruiser Janne Forsman, 8-0 and reigning national champ, who take on Hungarian veteran Joszef Nagy, 28-13, in a scheduled eight-rounder. Forsman (pictured) and stablemates Janne Katajisto, Finnish and BBU heavyweight champ, and Sami Enbom also fight in Riga, Latvia, January 18.

WBO lightweight champ Ricky Burns heads for the north of Norway during January and it´s not a vacation trip. Burns along with former British champ John Simpson, will spend a week in Melhus and spar with Andreas Evensen. Evensen is in training to take on EBU feather champ Alex Miskirtchian February 9 in Esbjerg, Denmark.

 

Burns beat Evensen on a wide points win during his stint as WBO jr light champ in 2010 and the two teams got along well.

Feathers Celestino Cabellero, WBC # 1, and Viorel Simion, WBC # 3, will reportedly square off sometime in March in Panama City in a final WBC eliminator for the chance to challenge champ Daniel Ponce De Leon.

 

Also on the bill is jr light Zapir Rasulov in a IBO I/C fight. Rasulov, who have a flashy record but have never fought anybody of note, have been training under Francesco Arroyo and is said to have made great progress.
