Hrunov Promotions wins Klitschko vs Povetkin Purse Bid

Hrunov Promotions won the promotional rights for the mandatory fight between Vladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin, bidding US $ 23,333,330.

The Ukranian Klitschko is the Heavyweight super champion while the Russian Povetkin is the regular champion of the division.

The bidding took place at the World Boxing Association headquarters in Panama and was directed by Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, vice-president of the ecumenical organization and chairman of the Championships Committee.

K2 Promotions and Sauerland Events representatives also attended the bidding process and offered US$ 7,130,000 and US$ 6,014,444, respectively.

Vladimir Hrunov announced that the date for the fight will be August 31 2013, in a site TBA. So far, the three possible cities are Moscow, Berlin and Las Vegas, said Hrunov.
