Purdy gets European welterweight shotuk.eurosport.yahoo.com Colchester's Lee Purdy (20-4-1) will challenge unbeaten southpaw Leonard Bundu (29-0-2) for the European welterweight title on December 14, part of a big Christmas night of boxing in London.

Bundu claimed the title in November 2011 and has defended it four times since. The 38-year-old is ranked at number four in both the WBC and IBF.
Purdy’s promoter Eddie Hearn was delighted to secure the fight and believes a win for Purdy will open more big doors in 2014.
“This is the perfect fight for Purdy and one that many welterweights around Europe have been looking to make,” said Hearn.
“Bundu is the European champion and also well placed in the governing bodies. Further details on the December show will be released soon – we’re planning a blockbuster night to end a great year on a high.”
