Tyson Fury signs with Frank Warren as he eyes Chisora eliminator
Tyson Fury has signed a long-term promotional deal with Frank Warren as he builds up to a rematch with former foe Dereck Chisora.
The unbeaten Morecambe giant will appear on Warren’s February 15 show at London’s Copper Box Arena along with the European Heavyweight Champion he beat for the British and Commonwealth belts back in July 2011.
If both fighters are victorious next month, Warren hopes the rematch, possibly at a football stadium in June, will act as final eliminator for a shot at IBF, WBO and WBA champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury’s opponent for the February 15 show on BoxNation is yet to be announced with Chisora set to face 24-0 Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko.
It is understood that Fury’s manager Mick Hennessy will remain as part of his team, with uncle and trainer Peter Fury insisting on Twitter that the deal is for a co-promotion with Hennessy Sports.
