Polish heavy Andrzej Wawrzyk, 27-1, who last seen getting stopped by then WBA regular champ Alexander Povetkin returns to action February 1 in Opole (Poland) in a scheduled eight-rounder against Danny Williams, 45-20, who openly the last two years of his career have been one big embarrassment but says although he is doing well he needs the extra money from boxing to keep his two daughters in private school.

The Brits are coming! On February 1 in Hangelsberg (Germany) Steven Bendall, Ryan Barrett and Declan Timlin all go for GBC (Global Boxing Council) world titles. Bendall, at supermiddle, face Daniel Adjei Sowah. Barrett, a jr welter is in against Sarfo Tyson and Timlin, a heavyweight, take on Paakwesi Ankrah. The show is headlined by superwelter Rico Schultz, who clash against Emmanuel Clottey also for the GBC title. The show is promoted by Berlin Bern Sportpromotion but the British fights are financed by their respective management. Supervising body is the GBA (German Boxing Association).

Russian welter Roman Belaev has been added to the big K 2 / Golden Gloves promotion February 1 in Monte Carlo and take on Dean Byrne for the vacant WBA I/C title. Belaev have previously fought out of Germany with 8 M Boxen but is connected to K 2 by way Gennadyi Golovkin and his management.
