Former IBO middleweight champ Raymond "Hallelujah" Joval (pictured) is now a trainer and promoter in Amsterdam.
 
Joval retired in 2008 after a points loss to Buddy McGirt and went out at 37-5 after a long, fine career that in the later years were interrupted with injuries.
 
Joval also had a very international career fighting all over Europe and in the US.

Aging but still good former WBC cruiser champ Juan Carlos Gomez (53-3) take on Croatian Ivica Bacurin (17-4-1) March 8 in Kecsemet (Hungary) in a supporting bout to Zsolt Erdei´s farewell fight against Shalva Jomardashvili, Gomez vs Bacurin is for the vacant WBO Int´l title.

Had Robert Stieglitz defeated Arthur Abraham Saturday night in Magdeburg his next defence would likely have been against unbeaten Hungarian Balasz Kelemen (19-0). As it is now Abraham will defend the title May 31 with site and opponent to be announced.

Turkish superlightweight Selcuk Aydin (26-2) is training hard in Trabzon for his upcoming WBC eliminator against Victor Postol, With Aydin in Trabzon is trainer Robert Rolle. Rolle have put his career as a promoter in Berlin on hold to train Aydin for this very important fight.

Erik Skoglund defends the EU lightheavy title against Italian Danilo D’Agata April 12 in Esbjerg (Denmark). It’s a voluntary defence by the  undefeated Swede. D’Agata (12-1-1) is not yet in the ratings but will  appear next month. Stefano Abateangelo, the mandatory challenger for Skoglund, is reportedly sidelined with an injury and that paved the way for D’Agata. Skoglund vs D’Agata is staged by Sauerland Promotion.
