When Tuscaloosa native and heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder knocked out Malik Scott in the first round of their March 15 fight in Puerto Rico, many fans saw it as the ultimate display of Wilder's power and skill. Others, however, viewed the result with some suspicion.

In a video interview with Behind The Gloves, Scott addressed allegations that he threw his fight against Wilder

"We both trained hard for the fight, at least I know I did. I got caught dead on the temple, my equilibrium was off. This is such a simple thing to me. That's because I know the body. I took a shot, I know how my body was feeling when I went down. It was an unfortunate thing that happened on a big night. I'm sorry that I'm not sorry that I got caught with a shot and I couldn't get up that night. The best man won that night."

Scott also said he believes the rumors grew from fans who were disappointed at the length of the fight. Watch the full interview below to hear Scott's full thoughts on the fight.
