Z! Promotions of Germany headed by the Zastrow brothers, Alexander and Boris, were the sole bidders today in Rome for Johan Duhaupas’ mandatory defence of the EU heavyweight title against Erkan Teper (pictured). Z! bid 30 125 Euro for the fight. Date and site is to be announced.
 
Duhaupas, 31-1, won the title last year and this will be his second defence. Teper, 12-0, looked lucky to get past Gbenga Oloukun in 2012 but stopped both Michael Sprott and Martin Rogan in the first last year.
 
Nordic Fight Night, the Scandinavian leg of Team Sauerland’s promotions, will take a long summer break. World championships in icehockey is followed by the World championships in football (soccer) and then it’s vacation time. The Nielsen brothers, Patrick and Micki will be in action though. Patrick, as already announced, challenge Dmitrij Chudinov for the WBA interim title June 1 in Moscow while Micki is featured in a scheduled eight rounder on the undercard against the ever dangerous tba.
 
Heavyweight Steffen Kretschmann (17-2) take on Oezcan Cetincaya (21-8-2) May 30 in Dresden on SES´ Night of the Heavyweights show with the vacant Int´l German title at stake.
 
Headlining the bill is heavyweight Francesco Pianeta (29-1-1) taking on Frenchman Mikael Vieira (14-3-1) with the vacant WBO European title at stake.
 
In the co-feature heavyweight Michael Wallish (12-0) defends the German title against Konstantin Airich.
