June 7, Schwerin, GER, Sport und Kongresshalle, Sauerland Promotion, FvA
Jürgen Brähmer, 79,1, Schwerin, Ger W12-U Roberto Feliciano Bolonti, 79,1, Arg
Brähmer retained the WBA regular 175 lb title with a unanimous decision over Bolonti, who was tough but not good enough create an upset. Brähmer´s special, the southpaw left hook after right-left hook combination kept coming and he scored well to the body throughout. It became quite messy with Bolonti holding on and in round eight he had a point deducted. In the final round the challenger landed with a solid left hook that shook the German but he slipped the follow up punches although looked a little unsteady. Bolonti bled badly from the nose and it wasn´t pretty when he wiped the nose on Brähmer´s shoulder in round seven.
10x3: Tyron Zeuge, 76,2, Ger TKO 9 (1.12) Armand Cullhaj, 75,5, Ger
Zeuge retained the WBO Youth title and handed out a one-sided beating against an opponent who was durable and could punch a bit but was out of his league. Zeuge´s right hand kept landing and Cullhaj´s left side of the face was swollen and cut. At the same time Cullhaj wasn´t hurt and kept coming. Finally in the eighth Zeuge broke through and with only the ropes holding Armand up an eight count was issued. Early in the ninth it was more of the same and then Cullhaj looked to his corner and the towel came in. 80-71 on all cards after eight.
Enrico Kölling, 79,3, Ger W12-U Patrik Bois, 78,7, Fra
Kölling won the vacant WBA I/C lightheavyweight titles on scores of 116-112, 116-113 and 115-113 after a good fight between two non-punchers. Kölling landed with good left hooks to the body but Bois took all and had some good rounds in the last six in a fastpaced fight.
David Price, 114,5, UK W10-U Yaroslav Zavorotny, 111,8, Ukr
Price won on scores of 100-90, 97-92 and 98-92. The big Brit dominated the action with Zavarotny covering up doing what he had to do to survive and in the last three he even attacked and Price was forced to work. Price didn´t impress but Zavorotny was a difficult opponent and that he knew his limitations and covered up well. Going the full ten was probably good for Price and his team.
8x3: Noel Gevor, 89,0, Ger KO 2 (2.29) Bela Juhasz, 84,1, Hun
Juhasz, short and flabby, took a beating and finally went down after some hard jabs to the head. He got up at "eight" but referee Josef Temml counted nine-ten-out.
8x3: Vincent Feigenbutz, 76,0, Karlsruhe, Ger KO 3 (2.57) Gheorge Sabau, 74,6, Rom/Ita
Sabau came out fast and landed with some one-two combinations as Feigenbutz covered up and waited for his chance. A left from Sabau in the third made Feigenbutz open up and they exchanged punches with the quality coming from Vincent and then late in the round he connected with a left and Sabau went down in his own corner with the count dispensed with. He recovered quickly though.
Firat Arslan, 93,0, Ger W8-U Tamas Bajzath, 92,1, Hun
80-71 on all cards with Bajzath down in the last round after a fight where Arslan worked out against an out of shape but stubborn opponent.
10x2: Cecilia Braekhus, 63,9, Nor/Ger W10-U Jessica Balogun, 65,9, Ger
Braekhus retained her WBA, WBC and WBO female welterweight titles on scores of 98-92, 100-90 and 99-91 - scores that were quite generous to the champion who did very little in what was a dull fight. Balogun kept working and had her moments but just isn´t good enough.
