There were purse bids yesterday in Rome for Mariano Hilario’s defence of the EU supermiddleweight title against former WBC ruler Cristian Sanavia. OPI 2000 won with a bid for 21 717 Euro. Rimer Box from Spain bid 11 113 Euro. Date and site is to be announced.
 
Hilario (11-2) won he the title earlier this year with an upset come from behind win over Frenchman Samy Anouche and have since defended the title with a points win over Roberto Cocco. In Sanavia (49-6-1) he face a still capable veteran, who however is not the force he was ten years ago when he beat Markus Beyer to won the WBC title.

Italian Michele Di Rocco (37-1-1) will defend the EBU superlightweight title against official challenger Ruben Nieto (15-0) October 3 in Fuenlabrada (Spain) with Rimer Boxe promoting.
 
The Spanish promoter won purse bids May 26 for the right to stage the fight with an offer for 55 113 Euro.
 
It's the second defence of the title Di Rocco (pictured) won by beating Lenny Daws last year and in Nieto he face a dangerous challenger who also enjoys the advantage of fighting at home.

Swedish lightheavyweight prospect Oscar Ahlin (9-0, 8) returns to action September 20 in London after almost a year out due to the serious hand injury he suffered against Sergey Demchenko. Opponent is to be announced.
 
Ahlin is now trained by Luis Lagermann, who previously trained the likes of Attila Levin. George Scott and Leif Keiski.
 
Headlining the bill is George Groves, who challenge EBU supermiddle champ Christophe Rebrasse in what also is a final WBC eliminator.
