EU cruiserweight champion Stjepan Vugdelija (10-3) will make a voluntary of the the title December 6 in Split (Croatia). Vugdelija takes on Belgian Bilal Laggoune (17-0-1).

Vugdelija looked like a very unlikely champion when he came in as a late sub for future WBO contender Mirko Larghetti against Maurizio Lovaglio but somehow the Italian broke down and was disqualified on front of his home crowd.

WBO European heavyweight champ Francesco Pianeta (30-1-1) defends the title against Croatian Ivica Bacurin (18-6-1) on the Sturm vs Stieglitz bill November 8 in Stuttgart. Bacurin have the bulk of his career at cruiserweight and will probably not be able to upset the much bigger and heavier champion.

****************************

Ahmed El Mousaoui (20-1-1) and Aitor Nieto (15-2) clash for the vacant welterweight title December 6 in Vrigne aux Bois (France). El Mousaoui was first mandatory challenger for Ceferino Rodriguez, who vacated the title and then El Mousaoui was to fight Jan Zaveck, who was injured and in came Nieto. El Mousaoui vs Nieto was first set for November 15 but is now moved to December 6 with EuroProm headed by Gerard Teysseron as promoter.

****************************

IBF # 1 contender Nadjib Mohammedi (35-3) take on Demetrius Walker (7-7-1) on the undercard to Sergey Kovalev vs Bernard Hopkins November 8 in Atlantic City.

Mohammedi has spent a long time waiting since winning a final eliminator against Anatolij Dudchenko in June (and before waiting for his chance) but have stayed in training and been to Poland to spar with Mateusz Masternak and to Berlin to spar with Erik Skoglund and Arthur Abraham.

****************************

Former EBU lightheavy champ Eduard Gutknecht (25-3-1) ends a shortlived -semi-retirement and returns on a show in Salzwedel (Germany) on Saturday (Oct 18). Gutknecht take on Haris Colacovic ((7-3) on a PSP Promotion show sanctioned by the BDF. Gutknecht was up until May of this year promoted by Sauerland Event and held the EBU title 2012-13 but lost to stablemate Juergen Braehmer and also a IBF eliminator against Dmitry Sukhotskyi. When Eduard drew with the unheralded Pablo Sosa (4-3-3) in May he was adviced to retire.

Also on the bill are lightheavy Nils Schmidt (5-0), middleweight Artur Gaserjan (6-0-1) and cruiser Waldemar Schoenbeck (3-0).
