Nov 15, Hamburg, GER, O 2 Arena, K 2
Wladimir Klitschko, 111,5, Ukr KO 5 (2.11) Kubrat Pulev, 112,0, Bul
Pulev began well, very well, but was floored by a left hook, and was down again in the first and looked unsteady and hurt. Stylewise Pulev´s upright style made himself a sucker for Klitschko - at the same time he could reach Klitschko with his jab and that disturbed the champion. The second was more even but in the third Klitschko connected again this time with a right and a left hook/push followed and Pulev was down again. The fourth was relatively even and Klitschko went all out for the first time in ages. In the fifth the challenger connected well with a combination but then came a left hook from the champion and Pulev went down on his back - and it was stopped before the count was finished with Pulev cut and swollen on the cheeks. Pulev gave Klitschko his toughest fight in years but wasn´t good enough in his defence.
