Feb 1, Copenhagen, DEN, Fredriksberghallerne, DFN (Mogens Palle / Brian Nielsen) 10x2: Sarah Mahfoud, 57,0, Den W10-U Brenda Karen Carabajal, 57,0, Arg Mahfoud won the IBF interim female 126 lb title on scores of 98-92, 97-93 and 100-90. Trained by Sherman Williams Mahdfoud came out fast and kept the presure up and Carabajal could never get untracked. Career best performance by Mahfoud - and an all Danish showdown with DIna Thorslund must be getting closer. Nikola Sjekloca, 79,3, Mne W8-S Jeppe Morell, 79,4, Den 76-75 twice for Sjekloca and 78-73 for Morell in a fight between a somewhat faded but still sklilfull veteran and a well conditioned, strong but still inexperienced opponent. Morell worked hard but was seldom effective. Sjekloca paced himself well and landed with sharp counters and floored Morell in the fourth. The Dane got up and did better after that and was on top at the end with Sjekloca tiring badly. Over ten Morell, a southpaw, would have won on all cards. Oliver Meng, 69,2, Den W10-U Vasyl Kurasov, 69,4, Ukr Meng retained the IBF Youth title on scores of 99-91 on all cards but had his chin tested several times. The chin stood up well and Meng, a southpaw, won clearly but better sharpen up his defence. Kurasov was in good shape, boxed well but was second best for the most part. 8x3: Ditlev Rossing, 89,8, Den TKO 1 (1.38) Sviatoslav Svyryd, 87,0, Ukr Rossing, trained by Sherman Williams, came out fast and hurt Svyryd who went down one knee and as the fight resumed Rossing hurt him again with a barrage of hooks to the head and body and it was stopped. Viktor Ramon, 63,8, Den W4-U Ezequiel Gregores, 63,6, Arg/Spa 40-36 on all cards but it was close. Gregores kept chasing with Ramon boxing on the move. Heva Sharif, 62,8, Den W8-U David Miunoz, 63,8, Spa Slow start by Munoz in a good fight. Sharif got away with two blatant headbutts and a lot of holding and shoving. Munuoz retalitated in the last ten seconds of the 8th - and had a point deducted. Sharif won on scores of 78-73 twice and 79-72. Muinoz was winning the sixth when he was stunned by a headbutt, got no timeout and Sharif jumped on him and won the round. In the 7th Munoz was cut after another headbutt. 6x2: Elena Gradinar, 56,5, Rus W6-M Nina Pavlovic, 57,7, Ser Gradinar, in town as sparring for Sarah Mahfoud, won on scores of 58-56, 59-55 and 57-57 in a poor fight. Gradinar fought mainly as a southpaw, missed a lot and kept holding and should have had a point deducted for this. I had Pavlovic winning 58-57. 4x3: Guillaume Da Silva, 71,2, Fra TKO 2 (2.57) Adel Younes, 71,9, Den Younes made his debut at 29 with one amateur fights and a long career as a criminal but it didn´t help as he was much too tense and green and punched himself out. Da Silva was rather inept but knew enough and caight Yoiunes his right. Yoiunes went down late in the second, got up and was asked to take a step forward and he as he did he stumbled and it was stopped. Samuli Kärkkäinen
